Steps To Join
$50 Membership Fee Per Family
$10 Supply Fee Per Child
Each registered family is required to have at least one parent/guardian volunteer throughout the duration of the co-op year. Positions are first come, first serve.
Volunteer Positions Include:

Room Moms/Dads
Every classroom is equipped with a teacher but we need extra hands, feet, and eyes in the room for the convenience and safety of everyone. Room moms (or dad) will just assist the teacher in keeping control in the classroom and getting the children to and from other activities on the premises.
Door Dads/Moms
Safety is very important to us at Dunmor Homeschool Co-Op. That’s why we have a security team made up of “Door Dads”. Our Door Dads, stand guard at the exits to ensure no one enters the building that may have a hidden agenda. They also survey the perimeter to be sure everyone is safe during outdoor activities.
Teachers
Teachers are responsible with providing a class syllabus that outlines the week-by-week lesson plans for the co-op year, to the director, by the date the director decides. Teachers are required to be present for each co-op day, with their assigned class, for the whole class period. Teachers are required to agree with, abide by, and teach according to the Statement of Faith, By-Laws, and Policies and Procedures of the Dunmor Homeschool Co-op, as found in the handbook. Teachers may utilize their teacher assistant and room parents to help with class activities, and to supervise the class if the teacher needs to leave the room to use the restroom. In the event of illness or family emergency, teachers are responsible to find a substitute to teach their class that day, starting with asking their teacher assistant. They must also make every effort to provide the teacher assistant or other substitute teacher with the lesson plan for the day, so the class may run on schedule according to the syllabus. If the teacher is unable to share the lesson plan, the teacher assistant will be allowed to use her own lesson plan or play a classroom learning game.
Kitchen Crew
Although we do not supply meals, we still need assistance in the kitchen. Our kitchen helpers collect and distribute lunch boxes, heat leftovers, clean spills, sweep, wipe down tables and assist the children in a variety of ways. They also help to leave the fellowship hall in the way it was found.
Clean-Up Crew
Vaccuming and taking out the trash is an easy way to volunteer if you’d rather not be surrounded by children. Dunmor Baptist Church is gracious enough to allow us to use their facility so we need to be sure we are protecting and preserving that facility anyway we can. That includes cleanup after dismissal.
Teacher Assistants
Teacher Assistants will assist the teacher in the classroom, and in getting the children to and from activities on the premises. Teacher assistants may also be called upon to assist the children with the activity at hand, make copies, get supplies, take a child to the bathroom, or temporarily be in charge of the class if the teacher is out for a restroom break or an emergency. Teacher assistants are required to stay with their assigned class group at all times, unless they are retrieving supplies needed for class or bringing a child to the restroom. If an emergency arises with their own family, they must alert the teacher that they have to leave. Teacher assistants may be called upon to teach the class in the event the teacher is out for illness or has a family emergency. In that case, teachers will make an effort to share the lesson plan for the day with the teacher assistant ahead of class time. If unable to do so, the teacher will allow the substitute to choose their own lesson plan for the day, or do a classroom learning game with the students.
